To understand Motivation
one must understand Human nature. Human nature can be
very simple as well as quite complex. We must understand
and appreciate this in order to have effective employee
motivation in the organization and thereby ensuring
effective management and leadership.
To achieve this we have the
following golden rules:
Teach Yourself: Man has the ability to learn himself.
When we learn the art of self-education we will find, if
not create, opportunity to find success beyond our
wildest dreams. Never depend on others for knowledge.
Inspiration leads to knowledge: If we are inspired by a
subject or if we like / take more interest in that
subject, there develops high possibility to learn more
about it. Just like a self-propelled machine which can
speed up.
Establish a major goal, with the milestones of mini
goals: Route to success has small goals that go in many
directions. When we learn to succeed at these small /
mini goals, we will get motivated to challenge for
majestic goals.
Make a group of friends who are ambitious: Socialize
with such friends who not only dream big, but also act
to achieve their ambitions. Mutual support in the friend
circle is motivating.
Complement natural talent by working in your interesting
field: Natural talent creates motivation; motivation
helps in firm determination which in turn gets the job
done.
Take risk: Taking risks may lead to failure. Failure is
a learning tool. Failure and bouncing back are elements
of motivation. No one has ever succeeded in anything
without facing failures.
Finish what you start. Never leave anything incomplete.
A half finished project is of no use to anyone. Quitting
is a feature of a loser. Develop the habit of finishing
all the self-motivated projects.
